Fresh off the Risk Pools CEO Summit in Frankfurt, PCRIC joined forces with other regional risk pools at the V20 Ministerial Dialogue XIV during the 2025 World Bank-IMF Spring Meetings in Washington, DC. The goal was to strengthen the Pacific Islands’ ability to bounce back from disasters.
PCRIC and its counterparts built on Frankfurt’s momentum, planning bold new initiatives backed by Global Shield Solutions Platform funds. These efforts aim to deliver faster financial support to communities when disasters strike. They also explored how V20’s support could bring these plans to life.
Representing the group, the African Risk Capacity (ARC) CEO Mr. Lesley Ndlovu, stressed the need for collective action and leveraging on an already built, well structured and practically developed institution to address loss and damage imposed by climate change. Risk Pools are a key element of the CDRF ecosystem which aligns well with the establishment of the V20. This will ultimately drive effective responses post-disaster, thereby ensuring a safer future for the region.
